Distribution, brand management and entertainment company Taffy Ent. has tapped Canadian entity HOLA Ent. to serve as a distribution agent for free TV broadcasters and video distributors in Latin America. Taffy has already closed deals with several Latin American broadcasters, including TV Globo (Fantastic Four, Little Vampire) and TVN Chile (Code Lyoko, Fantastic Four), and will continue to handle pay TV rights for its catalogue of animated properties.
HOLA will begin expanding Taffy’s reach in the region with this year’s LA Screenings, taking place later this month in Los Angeles. Taffy and HOLA will set up shop at the Intercontinental Hotel Century City, Suite 1005, where they will be presenting a number of shows including the Emmy-nominated cartoon series Growing Up Creepie. Also in the offing are the science-based comedy-action-adventure Cosmic Quantum Ray, the whimsical preschool show Lamimila, the comedy series I Got A Rocket, the anime/trading-card fantasy-comedy Mix Master: King of Cards, and the HD CG show SamSam, as well as established favorites Dive Olly Dive!, Code Lyoko, ToddWorld, Pet Alien.
With offices in Paris, Los Angeles, London and Shanghai, Taffy Ent. represents these and other popular animated brands from Mike Young Prods. and MoonScoop Prods. Taffy boasts a library of more than 3,000 half hours of animation and distributes to broadcasters in 160 countries around the world.
Based in Montreal, HOLA Ent. has also licensed and renewed programming for CINAR/Cookie Jar Ent., Breakthrough Ent., Seville Pictures, Ragdoll, Cin’groupe, FRV Media and Monster Distributes in Latin America and the Caribbean. Shows handled include Atomic Betty, Teletubbies, Caillou, Arthur, Zoboomafoo, and Sagwa.
