With the outstanding success of their Oscar-winning animated feature Happy Feet and the box-office smash 300, Warner Bros. Pictures and Australian animation/vfx house Animal Logic will join forces for more CG-animated movies. Warner will have worldwide distribution rights for all films made under the deal, which will initially see three features go into the pipeline. Titles will be announced at a later date.

”Happy Feet’ was such an incredible achievement that expanding our development and production partnership with Animal Logic felt like a natural next step,’ says Jeff Robinov, president of production for Warner Bros. Pictures. ‘We’re thrilled to be in business with such a respected and innovative animation and digital production studio and look forward to many more successful joint projects.’

Animal Logic CEO Zareh Nalbandian adds, ‘The wide slate of project opportunities assures Animal Logic’s ability to continue to produce engaging and innovative digital features. It supports our technical and creative point of difference.’

Sydney-based Animal Logic previously collaborated with Warner Bros. Pictures on such vfx-laden films as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded. In the process of creating Happy Feet, the vfx house grew into a fully operational animation studio, increasing its workforce from 150 to more 500 employees at the peak of production. The company says it will call on many of the same artists to work on future projects with Warner Bros.
