Two more volumes of the ever-popular Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain TV series were made available on home video today, allowing rabid fans to fill out their collections. In addition to third volumes of each series, Warner Home Video is offering a package deal that offers all three volumes for the list price of $133. Also hitting shelves today is a complete set of episodes of the 1967 animated Batman parody Batfink, produced by Hal Seeger Studios.
Introduced in 1993, Animaniacs is the acclaimed Steve Spielberg-produced series directed by Rich Arons and Peter Bonerz, and featuring an ensemble cast of wacky characters including Wakko, Yakko, Dot Warner, Pinky, The Brain, Rita, Runt, Bobby, Pesto and Squit. Animaniacs Vol. 3 is a five-disc set that features another 25 episodes from the show and carries a suggest retail price of $44.98.
A spin-off of Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain chronicles the further adventures of a genetically engineered mouse who continually attempts to take over the world with the help of his insane cohort. A total of 22 more episodes are featured in the four-disc set which also lists for $44.98.
Batfink follows the comical adventures of a super hero bat and his klutzy sidekick, Karate, who together face some of the world’s most dangerous evil-doers, including Queenie Bee, Victor the Predictor, Goldyunlocks, Judy Jitsu and the heinous Hugo A-Go-Go. The series consists of 100 shorts that are loaded onto four discs. The set from Shout Factory carries a suggested retail price of $34.99.
